Animal Ministry Institute ~ "AMI"
Doing God's work toward all of His creations ~ caring, loving and respecting all.
The little-known, but growing, field of Animal Ministry is at the forefront of how our partners in the animal kingdom desire to be, and need to be treated. As members of our families, in our forests, oceans, mountains, earth and skies ~ upon and within the entire earth ~ their presence makes our lives infinitely brighter and more loving and lovable. Our partners, whether furry, with scales, feathers or skin keep us safe and warm through our good days, and more importantly, through those less-than stellar times. They are always there with a greeting letting us know we are loved ~ and through deeper training, we can now provide for them in a deeper and more loving manner as well. Here at the AMI ~ we currently provide four levels of instruction in Animal Ministry. If, after reading these descriptions, you would like more information, please fill out our AMI Inquiry Form which is listed below.
Animal Ministry Deacon is for the lay person who wishes to begin or deepen their knowledge of ministering not only to animals, but also to their human partners
Animal Ministry Shepherd is for the ordained Independent Minister who wishes to add Animal Ministry to their current ministry
Animal Ministry Curate is for the lay person who is head of a organization serving life ~ whether animal or human ~ also wishing to expand their knowledge of Animal Ministry to a deeper level
Animal Ministry Chaplain is for the ordained Faith Professional who is head of a congregation, no matter what faith ~ wishing to add an Animal Ministry department to their current duties as faith leader
Each title requires a specific number of lessons with homework, usually in the form of personal essay, required book reading, as well as knowledge of the animal kingdom and the world around it at large. Some lessons may be familiar to those already ordained as a faith professional, as well as the lay person who may already have served or be serving animals and/or humans currently.
*Please note ~ all programs must be completed within 6 months of receiving the first lesson. This is for your benefit as well as those you may be serving through your ministry.
Please keep in mind that we are not here to tell you how to use your "ministry" or "chaplaincy" knowledge once your studies are completed, and we do not provide any employment or ordination opportunities ~ rather, the AMI is here to provide you with an avenue to get started, or continue, your studies into a field you care deeply about, and to validate your present level of expertise, while guiding you to the next steps in your development.
