"Serving our partners in the Animal Kingdom with Grace"

Accreditation

  • Is the AMI curriculum nationally accredited?  At the present time, the AMI is offering its curriculum as Adult Education only, and therefore is not accredited with any national or local colleges or other educational institutions.

  • Does the AMI ordain ministers?  No.  The AMI, as well as our founding organization, the National InterFaith Council, does not ordain anyone.  You will not become ordained by going through any of our programs.

  • Why call it Animal Ministry if you don't ordain ministers?  Animal Ministry is just that ~ "ministering" to others.  Most of us do that each and every day in some form or another ~ friend to friend, brother to sister, parent to child, and so forth.  It is just a term that describes the loving work you will be doing toward our partners in the animal kingdom ~ all of whom are God's creatures, and who don't belong to any religion.

  • Who should take these courses?  Anyone who is interested in animal advocacy may be interested in our curriculum.   Anyone who loves animals, and believes they have souls and were created by God.

  • How long will any of the courses take to complete?  Since most people interested in studying this curriculum are currently employed at other, or related professions, there is no time frame that is definitive or required on our part for completion of your studies; you are free to take as much time as you need to complete your chosen curriculum.  However, we feel that your studies should be completed within one (1) year to garner the full benefit.

  • Do you help students find employment in the field of animal ministry?  No.  Once you have completed one of our programs, it is up to you to make your presence known to those around you to begin your loving work with animals.

  • Is the AMI associated with any religion, church, or organization?  The AMI is not associated with any specific religion, church or temple.  It is, however, an auxiliary department of its founding organization, the National InterFaith Council, which honors those who "Serve All Life With Grace, Through All Philosophies."

  • In other words, in order to complete any of our AMI programs, you must be willing to honor all faiths and all religions in your work with others.  Animal Ministry is not Christian, Muslim, Jewish or related to any other faith ~ it is about doing God's work ~ for all His Creations without regard to personal beliefs.

FAQs

  • Animal Ministry is a small, and little-known field for the most part.
  • As a graduate of any type of Animal Ministry course from any educational institution ~ it will be up to you to make your presence known, lovingly, that there is a need for compassionate care not only to our partners in the animal kingdom, but for those whom they live with.
  • Many veterinary offices provide loving care to the pets in their care, but may lack the time to take that care a step further ~ that is where Animal Ministry can help, especially through volunteering.
  • Numerous religious organizations are now beginning to see the need for Animal Ministry ~ you may try contacting your local parish or temple to see if they are interested, once you complete any studies you may take through any educational institution, in Animal Ministry.
  • Local pet shelters can always use another loving and kind person to administer care to those pets in their facilities, although the larger, state or federal-funded shelters usually have their own programs.
